On Final Fantasy VII, How do you get to Aeris's house?

you fall down into that church and fight the turks and all then that rooftop jump then you should be in the slums,and when you get there there is a tricky area which is tricky to get past:there is like a metal bridge take then them from there is some stuff on the north right of the screen theres a ladder take that then keep going south,keep going then there should be spots with shops a dog and a tube with some guy in it,there is a bright spot in the north east corner then go there,Note:there is some purple materia in the back of aeris's garden and there a save point in front of the house.
