Food Policy Section - New!
The Culinary Trust, in partnership with IACP, launched the new Food Policy Section on July 1, 2011. A resource for IACP members and IACP sections, the Food Policy Section will focus on current food policy, programs and political issues, and connect members with information and resources. The section will evolve to reflect member interests and will likely address:
- Childhood obesity, a strategic initiative that The Culinary Trust has embraced
- Food issues and their relevance to culinary professionals:
- Health (e.g., obesity, nutrition policy, food safety, genetic modification)
- School Food (e.g., Farm to School, Chef to School)
- Regulations (e.g., labeling laws, menu labeling, the Farm Bill)
- Ethics (e.g., equity and access, climate change, workers rights, animal rights
IACP members interested in Food Policy can contact Lexi Van de Walle at Lexi@theculinarytrust.org or David McIntyre at damcintyre@edmc.edu
